Haroon Siraj is a young creative and budding journalist. He serves as a reporter to the English daily newspaper, The Nation, zamaswat.com and Radio Pakistan. His career spans over three years. He chose journalism as his career after the tragic death of his father, Siraj-ud-Din (Shaheed), who was also a renown journalist himself. Hailing from a family of journalists, Haroon Siraj has inherited journalism from his grandfather, Master Muzzafar Hussain, who was associated with the Daily Jang when Swat was still a State. His family rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. On 29 February 2008, a deadly suicide attack in the funeral of his brother-in-law, DSP Javed Iqbal took the lives of over 60 innocent people including Haroon’s father, Siraj-ud-Din, cousin, Habibullah and nephew, Ghazan Khan.
