Tourists pour in Swat with the rising mercury in other parts of the country

With the rising mercury in other parts of the country, flocks of tourists mainly school, college and university students began to flow into the Swat valley, particularly into Kalam. Tourists are also coming to Madyan, Bahrain and Miandam.

With tourists, the bazaars and markets of the district once again throb with life. If on the one hand, the visitors enjoy the cool breeze coming off the River Swat, on the other, they are also found dancing to show their sheer pleasure.
“This year, the number of tourists increased which will certainly have a good impact on the hotel industry and businesses in Swat,” one of the locals said.
“The natural beauty of Kalam is matchless. However, the bad condition of the Kalam road keeps many deprived of rolling in its beauty,” an ecstatic tourist remarked. He appealed to the government for the reconstruction of the Kalam road and for the restoration of electricity in Kalam in order to sustain tourism in Swat.
