Residents of Saidu Sharif took to the street on Monday night against the broken transformer of the area. The demonstrators were yelling slogans against the government and the Wapda officials.
As pre reports, the transformer of Mohallah Nasar Khel and Mohallah Central Jail, Saidu Sharif went out of order due to overloading. The people gathered at Hospital Chowk and staged a demonstration.
Addressing the demonstration, Dr Khalid Mehmood Khalid, former Nazim said that due to overloading, the transformer often goes out of order suspending power to the area for days.
“The authorities turned a deaf ear to our troubles despite lodging several complaints at the Wapda office,” Dr Khalid added.
Dr Khalid warned if the problem was not resolved immediately, the residents of the area will resort to intense protest.
