The Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan accepted the responsibility for the attack on Al-Haj Zahid Khan. Talking to media from an unknown spot, Sirajuddin, spokesperson TTP Malakand Division said that the Tehrik carried out the attack on Al-Haj Zahid Khan for him being always opposed to the Tahrik.“The TTP intends to carry out similar attacks on members of the SQJ and all those who are anti Taliban and pro army.
The police have taken seven persons in custody under the suspicion of attacking Al-Haj Zahid Khan.
According to the locals, the police arrested seven persons from the spot of the attack on Al-Haj Zahid Khan. “At the time of the episode, the police were present in the close vicinity. However, they arrived at the spot after 40 to 45 minutes. It was the time when Zahid Khan was already taken to the hospital,” an eyewitness said.
“The police reached the spot within no time and remained there till Sehr. Our personnel are investigating the matter in collaboration with the Army,” Hanif Khan, SHO, Rahim Abad Police Station informed when contacted. “Seven persons have been taken into custody and are being investigated,” he further added.
On the other hand, the mobile found at the spot of the attack has not been taken as an important clue to the attackers but taken as a lost mobile. The members of the Swat Quami Jirga and members of the civil society and political parties have condemned the attack on the life of Al-Haj Zahid Khan. They said that Al-Haj Zahid Khan was an undaunted member of the Jirga and always opposed the forces of evil.
They demanded the provincial government to make arrangements for the treatment of the bruised member of the Jirga. They also made a demand for the provision of the security to the members of the SQJ and for bringing the responsible people in the cowardly act to the book.
