The people involved in the attack on Al Haj Zahid Khan are still at large after elapsing one week time that further increased the general apprehension.
It is not irrelevant to note that a week ago, some unknown gunmen attacked Al Haj ZAhid Khan and wounded him critically. The attackers had left behind a mobile set and a cap; however, neither the Swat police nor the security forces succeeded in busting the culprits.
On the other hand, the Swat Qaumi Jirga and the Swat Hotels Association has already warned of celebrating the Independence Day as black day if the responsible criminals were not arrested.
After the Jirga’s move of not celebrating the Independence Day and observing the day as black day, the general arrangements for the celebration of the national event lack enthusiasm.
Previously, the city used to be spotted with stalls of national flags and badges. The shopkeepers would decorate their shops with the national flags and the portraits of the national heroes. Contrary to the past, this year the bazaars are devoid of installs. Even the people avoid hoisting the flags on their houses!
When asked, the few stall men in the city said that they have to wait for customers but in vain.
