The people of Swat also observed the Independence Day in a befitting manner. Apart from many rallies arranged by various political parties including PPP-S and PML-N, a brilliant firework was displayed at the Grassy Ground at midnight.
The Commissioner Malakand Division, the DCO Swat and Army officials unfurled the national flag during a ceremony at the Shuhda Park, Saidu Sharif on August 14.
Likewise, functions were arranged by both government and private schools in accordance with the Day. A large number of people participated in the rallies on the eve of the Independence Day and expressed their love for their country.
Candles were also lit on various government buildings.
